Julius Blum Builders Pioneers a Renaissance in Handcraftsmanship

our-history.jpgIn an age of prefabrication, Julius Blum Builders is a shining exception. How many builders today handcraft their own curved staircases, elliptical arches, custom entertainment centers, cabinetry, mantles and various moldings?

Julius Blum Builders operates their own 4,000 square foot woodworking mill where David Blum oversees production of the architectural millwork used in their homes. David Blum also supervises the Blum interior finish carpenters. Examples of the Blum’s woodworking capabilities are spectacularly displayed in their Portfolio of homes.

The Blum’s frame their own homes. David and his crew spend several days in the initial stages of framing to make certain the first floor deck is completely level and square. This benchmark of quality, once established, is carried throughout the rest of the home’s construction and becomes the standard to which all the trades strive to achieve.

“It’s not worth doing if it’s not worth doing right” is the attitude of Julius Blum Builders. By controlling the rough carpentry, interior finish carpentry and millwork, Julius Blum Builders is able to address and influence all details, which ensures a perfect end product.

our-history1.jpgThe Blum Company maintains the highest standards of quality and offers the homebuyer unique features that have built the reputation of Blum Builders. Julius Blum taught his sons David and Jeffrey a lot about quality. He started his home building business in the ‘50s and then formed Julius Blum & Sons Builders in the ‘70s with his wife, Eva. David and Jeffrey have been actively involved since the mid ‘70s and late 80’s respectively. Furthermore, Jeffrey looks after the financial responsibilities of the company as well as customer relations. David graduated with a BA from the State University of New York at Buffalo and also took several graduate classes in Architecture. Jeffrey graduated with an accounting degree from the State University of New York at Albany.

“We do not rest on our past reputation, but constantly strive for perfection”
